 Soil Classification and Soil Chemistry Testing

Soil sampling is a primary focus of any environmental subsurface investigation, and  Blue Max has the capabilities to meet your soil sampling needs with many sampling options: solid and hollow stem augering, air and mud rotary drilling, Geoprobe direct-push samplers, split spoon samplers and sonic soil sampling.

Installations: Boreholes, monitoring wells, nested installs, telescoping well installs, soil vapour probes, CMT wells, Waterloo Profilers, in-situ water sampling.

 Soil Classification and Soil Mechanics Testing

Blue Max has vast experience in overburden geotechnical soil sampling using solid and hollow stem augers, air and mud rotary drilling, split spoon SPTs and sonic soil cores. Information is collected as part of visual sample analysis, as well as SPTs, DCPTs, CPT, Vane shear testing and Shelby tubes.

Installations: Fully grouted vibrating wire piezometers, pneumatic piezometers, standpipes, inclinometers, slope indicators, settlement gauges, Pump Tests, Hydraulic Conductivity testing

 Diamond Drilling Rock Coring

From BQ, NQ, HQ and PQ, Blue Max has you covered.  Many of our rigs have rock coring capabilities to prove and investigate bedrock, and some heli-portable options are built solely for diamond drilling purposes.  Need triple tube sampling (NQ3 or HQ3)?  We do that too.

Installations/Testing: Multi-level monitoring wells, packer testing (single and double packers), oriented core sampling, borehole geophysics

Using heli-portable drills all the way up to sonic drill rigs, Blue Max has been involved in many mining exploration projects across BC.  

Additionally, Blue Max is commonly called upon to supply sonic drilling services at tailing sites, aiding in the collection of geotechnical and hydrogeological data.
